Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated in another Journal for publication.
  • The identification of the authors was filled in the "authorship/metadata" field of the OJS system and does not exceed 120 words. It includes full name, highest degree, institution of origin and contact address (institution/organization or sector/unit), ORCID number (http://orcid.org/) e currículo Lattes.
  • The texts are in Word format (preferably .doc or .docx) or OpenOffice, have up to 2 MB and are two files, one with author identification and the other without author identification.
  • The article has 30,000 to 60,000 characters (with spaces), including titles, abstracts and references.
  • El texto presentado, incluyendo todas las citas y referencias bibliográficas, sigue las normas ABNT (NBR 6022; NBR10520; NBR 6023), de acuerdo con las normas de presentación de la Revista Jurídica del Ministerio Público de Tocantins.

  • The Abstract has 100 to 250 words in English and Spanish versions, accompanied by three to five keywords, only the first letter in capital letters, also translated into English and Spanish.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines (Papers in English)

The papers, received only by the Journal electronic system, will be submitted for examination and selection of the Scientific Editorial Board and peer review, follow the guidelines bellow (template):

1. Papers must be original and unpublished. Their concomitant submission to another national journal is not allowed;

2. Include the ORCID (http://orcid.org/)

3. Papers may be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English, and are published in their original versions.

4. To ensure blind review of the paper, it is requested that all authors identification (names in the text and tags in the document properties) must be removed from the file.

5. Data related to authorship and institution/affiliation must be included on the OJS plataform in "Authorship/Metadata" section and shou have up to s120 words. The author must provide full name, title, institution of origin and a brief biography. The author should post two files - one identified and one without identification.

6. The papers must be submitted in MS Word format (.doc or .docx) or OpenOffice format up to 2 MB (if it exceeds to attach supplementary files).

7. The articles must have between 30 thousand and not exceed 60 thousand characters (with spaces), including titles, abstracts and references. The length of the references should not exceed three pages. Exceptions for use of more than three pages for cases in which juristical texts are used as corpus of analysis and these are included in the list of references.

8. You should follow the formatting: top and left margins must be of 3 cm, and bottom and right margins must be of 2 cm. The body of the text should be in Times New Roman font, 12pt size, 1.5 line spacing, justified, with indentation of paragraphs (1st line) of 1.25 cm.

The texts must be submitted according to the ABNT standards (NBR 6022), with the following structure:

a) Title in capital and lowercase letters, bold, followed by the Spanish and English versions, in Times New Roman font, 12pt size, single-spaced;

b) Abstract from 5 to 20 lines, in Times New Roman font, 12pt size, single-spaced, in Portuguese, followed by the versions in English and Spanish, accompanied by three to five keywords, only first letter in upper case (e.g. scientific communication), separated by semicolons, also translated into English and Spanish;

c) Intertitles (not numbered) must be preceded by a blank line;

d) Footnotes must be in the font Times New Roman, 9pt size, justified.

e) Quotes from up to three lines should be incorporated within the text, enclosed in quotation marks and followed by the reference (authors surname, year and pages) in parentheses, according to the NBR 10520 (ABNT). Ex.: (SOUSA, 2019, p. 250-1). Quotes with more than three lines should be highlighted in the paragraph, with 4 cm indentation in the font Times New Roman, 10pt size, and separated by blank lines before and after the quote, single-spaced, without quotation marks, followed by the reference of the work in the pattern described above;

f) Chartes, tables, illustrations and figures should appear in the body of the text, duly numbered and identified. Below each image, in the body of the work, its caption and credit shall be included, and preceded by the word "Figure", serial numbering and colons. The use of tables should be in accordance with the same formatting (NBR 6021). The used images must contain the full credit (author and source) and the authors of the texts should be responsible for permission for reproduction, while respecting national and international copyrights (Law 9,610 and Berne Convention of the World Intellectual Property Organization). Photographs and maps, besides charts, diagrams, and complex flowcharts should be in appropriate formats for print (300 dpi with 20 cm wide);

g) References should be submitted only at the end of the work, (only first letter in upper case) according to ABNT (NBR 6023) and standard indicated below, single-spaced and in alphabetical order.

Books:

SURNAME, Name. Title. City: Publisher, year.

For more than one author:

SURNAME, Name; SURNAME, Name. Title. City: Publisher, year.

Book chapters:

SURNAME, Name. Chapter title. In: LAST NAME, First Name (ed. or org.). Title. City: Publisher, year.

Academic papers:

SURNAME, Name. Paper title. Journal title, acronym of the institution, City, number, year.

Online papers:

SURNAME, Name. Article title. Journal title, acronym of the institution, number, year. Available at . Access: Jan 10th  2018 (example).

Newspaper articles:

SURNAME, Name. Title. Newspaper title, City, day month year, page.
