Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated in another Journal for publication.
  • The identification of the authors was filled in the "authorship/metadata" field of the OJS system and does not exceed 120 words. It includes full name, highest degree, institution of origin and contact address (institution/organization or sector/unit), ORCID number (http://orcid.org/) e currículo Lattes.
  • The texts are in Word format (preferably .doc or .docx) or OpenOffice, have up to 2 MB and are two files, one with author identification and the other without author identification.
  • The article has 30,000 to 60,000 characters (with spaces), including titles, abstracts and references.
  • El texto presentado, incluyendo todas las citas y referencias bibliográficas, sigue las normas ABNT (NBR 6022; NBR10520; NBR 6023), de acuerdo con las normas de presentación de la Revista Jurídica del Ministerio Público de Tocantins.
  • The Abstract of 100 to 250 words, in Times New Roman font, size 12, single spacing, in Portuguese, followed by versions in English and Spanish, accompanied by three to five keywords, written with initial letters in lowercase, except for proper nouns and scientific names, separated by semicolons, also translated into English and Spanish.

Submissions and Guidelines

To submit an article to the Revista Jurídica, interested parties must register in the system to obtain a login and password for subsequent access and to monitor the ongoing editorial process.

Author Guidelines

Articles will be received exclusively through the Journal's electronic system, submitted for review and selection by the Editorial Board and peer review, following the submission criteria and standards.

Articles must be original and unpublished; simultaneous submission to another national journal is not permitted.

Articles must follow the Journal's official template. [Access here].

Include the ORCID number (http://orcid.org/).

Articles may be written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, and will be published in their original versions.

To ensure a blind peer review, all author identification (names in the body of the text and authorship marks in the document properties) must be removed from the file.

Authorship and institution/affiliation information must be filled in the "authorship/metadata" field of the OJS system and must not exceed 120 words. The author must provide their full name, highest degree, home institution, and contact address (institution/organization or department/unit). The author must upload two files: one identified and one unidentified (anonymized).

For articles written by two or more authors, a letter of authorization signed by all co-authors must be presented at the time of submission. [Click here for the authorization letter template].

Texts must be submitted in Word format (preferably .doc or .docx) or OpenOffice, with a maximum size of 2 MB (if the file exceeds this limit, attach images as supplementary documents).

Articles must have a minimum of 30,000 and a maximum of 60,000 characters (including spaces), including titles, abstracts, and references. References should not exceed three pages, except when legal precedents (súmulas) or other legal texts are used as a corpus for analysis and are included in the reference list.

Formatting must follow these specifications: top and left margins of 3.0 cm; bottom and right margins of 2.0 cm. The body text must be in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, justified, and a first-line paragraph indent of 1.25 cm.

Structural Requirements (ABNT NBR 6022)

Texts must be presented according to ABNT standards with the following structure:

a) Title: In sentence case (capitalizing only the first letter and proper nouns), bold, followed by versions in Spanish and English. Font: Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced.

b) Abstract: Between 100 and 250 words, Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced, in Portuguese, followed by English and Spanish versions. Include three to five keywords, written in lowercase (except for proper nouns and scientific names), separated by semicolons, also translated into English and Spanish.

c) Subheadings: (Non-numbered) must be preceded by a blank line.

d) Footnotes: Times New Roman, size 9, justified.

e) Citations: Up to three lines should be incorporated into the text, in quotation marks, followed by the reference (author's last name, year, and pages) in parentheses, according to NBR 10520. E.g., (Souza, 2019, p. 250-1). Citations longer than three lines must be indented 4 cm from the margin, in Times New Roman, size 10, single-spaced, without quotation marks, and separated by blank lines before and after.

f) Visual Elements: Charts, tables, illustrations, and figures must be in the body of the text, numbered and identified. They must be preceded by the designative word (drawing, diagram, flowchart, photograph, graph, map, etc.), followed by its sequence number, a dash, and the title. The source must be indicated immediately below the illustration (ABNT 10520).

g) References: The complete list must appear only at the end of the work under the title "Referências" (only the first letter capitalized), according to current ABNT standards (NBR 6023), single-spaced and in alphabetical order.
